Madlib to Release WLIB AM

Madlib’s latest release, WLIB AM: King of the Wigflip, will be dropped by Barely Breaking Even in the fall of 2008. Apparently Madlib will stray from his world rhythms and return to a more west-coast, hip-hop/R&B vibe. Like usual, many guests fill the slots in this closing to BBE’s Beat Generation series, which J Dilla opened them with. In their eyes, for a guy that is compared to the late Dilla so much, it’s only natural to close with Madlib. Vast Aire set to release Sophomore album

Just know that come Jun 24th, his new album, Deuces Wild, will be ready for consumption. With fourteen sure-to-be-solid tracks, there are appearances by Camp Lo’s Gecchi Suede, Copywrite, and Cannibal Ox’s Vordul Mega. Production-wise, Oh No, Pete Rock, and Melodius Monk all contribute (among others).

Stones, balls and zombies

2K Sports has been upping their cred as of late. Not only producing games that are actually pretty dope (All Pro-Football 2K8 was alright, but last years NBA 2K7 was the bomb explosive in the most positive way), but for the past several years they've enlisted indie hip-hop's finest to produce the complementing soundtracks to their games for folks to nod their head to.

In the past they had Dan the Automator, and with this year's All-Pro Football they had Z-Trip which saw all the Roots to Rakim to Redman rapping about schooling suckas on the courts or in the field. In continuing that trend, this year is no different. What they've got lined up for this year's NBA outing is that they've tapped Stones Throw presidente Peanut Butter Wolf to compile B-Ball Zombie War, an album with …
