KAZE’s Out For Presidents To Represent Him.. (MP3)

It’s been sixteen months, to the day Since the Tar Heel veteran emcee KAZE, a/k/a/ 4 Letters, released his Jersey in the Rafters mixtape. Despite some setbacks, the former Loud.com MC contest champ has persevered and continues to craft his hard edged rhymes over top shelf production as he delivers his latest effort, Black Kennedy. The project, which includes 20 new tracks, for over 80 minutes of music, unveils KAZE’s Black Kennedy persona with a slew of guest features, such as Jozeemo, Amanda Barrino, Dasan Ahanu, Johnny Juliano, Wreck N Crew, J. Moog Sound Lab (Video)

Moog Sound Lab gives artists the opportunity to re-imagine one of their songs on all Moog instruments, creatively engineered and filmed at Moog Music’s factory in Asheville, North Carolina.  With Moog being the original arbiter of analog sound, it was a natural progression for them to create Moog Sound Lab. MSL gives another way of looking at music by newer artists; a look at what is next.

Stranger Day x Fugazi :: “Not Playin’”

This one is making my insides feel funny. About three weeks ago, I dragged and dropped Fugazi’s awesomely epic “Blueprint” from their amazing 1990 album Repeater, into my Serato folder. Thanks (or no thanks) to such artists as Kid Rock and Limp Bizkit, when the term “rap-rock fusion” is thrown into the cosmos, it conjures some less than awesome ideas of what it means a lot of the time. Rage Against The Machine did a lot to give the people something (finally) awesome to think about when the hybrid genre is thought about and Paper Tongues definitely carries that torch.
