Common & Cocaine 80′s – Summer Madness (Prod. No I.D.)

Here is some brand new Common over a No I.D. beat from a new project called The Pursuit EP which came out of nowhere. It is rumored that the Cocaine 80s is a collective comprised of No I.D., Common, Steve Wyreman, Rob Kinelski, Kevin Randolph, James Fauntleroy, Makeba and “many more”. You can download The Pursuit EP here, all it will cost you is a tweet.

Kanye West – My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (Review)

Kanye West

My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

Released by Roc-a-Fella / Def Jam

My relationship with this man and his music has been one of love and hate. It seems that within the past couple years, my sentiments have slid further and further in the direction of the latter. It's ironic that Kanye's very (rare) artistic trait of unabashed self-expression is the very same trait that caused me to begin to lose interest in his work, not to mention respect for him as a person.

Kid Cudi – Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager (Review)

Kid Cudi

Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager

Released by Universal Motown

There's a lot more to the self-proclaimed Lonely Stoner than we might have initially assumed. On Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager, Cudi ...

New Kanye West – “Power” (MP3)

One thing we know about Kanye is that he doesn’t do anything quietly. So while the crackpot visionary MC has been keeping a relatively low profile in preparation for his next album—the return-to-rap Good Ass Job—there’s nothing tip-toeing about the first single, “Power.” In fact, we haven’t heard this many hand claps on a cut since the breakdown of Billy Idols “Eyes Without A Face” (somebody sample that, quick!). In fact, this track, reportedly produced by No I.D. S1 of Strange Fruit Project, pretty much gives banger a new definition for 2010, which is why we always look forward to Yeezy’s production.  Sure, folks will take the rhymes to task, this is a Kanye record after all. But given the subject matter—jumping off buildings thinking you’re a superhero—and Kanye’s own propensity for self-delusion, combined with the …

Common Returning To Form On Next Album? (Video)

He drops the hint near the end of the video after yapping about ‘Ye. I guess you could say I’m cautiously optimistic about this news since I don’t want to fall for the okee-doke. Then again with No I.D., Kanye and Twilite Tone on the boards I shouldn’t have to worry about it sounding like UMC 2: Electric Boogaloo.
