A finger isn’t a nipple and M.I.A. certainly isn’t Janet Jackson, but that’s the main (non-)controversy coming out of last night’s Superbowl Halftime show. While performing with Madonna and Nicki Minaj, the UK singer made the artistic decision to give the camera (and about 100,000,000 people) the middle finger. Why? “Adrenalin” is being named as the culprit, according to M.I.A.’s camp.

First off, HA! Ha to that disingenuous explanation that this video isn’t misogynistic or anything. As if comparing women to bloodsucking monsters out to get you who are then hung and killed can just be taken as some flippant “art piece”. But that is neither here nor there, once again Nicky Minaj kills it. Can you say effort? I mean Rick Ross, Jay-Z and Kanye just stand there while Nicki completely “brings” it. Everyone in this set brought something! This reminds me of when my sister had her Quinceañera and all the guys were “too cool” to do anything besides standing there in sunglasses looking mad. Newsflash, that gets old. Honestly, I did like the video but let’s be real and take it for what it is.

So as many of y’all know I disliked “Monster” and then I went on talking about how pretty much Nicki killed it. SO on that note thanks to Kingdom you get the whole song song without all the crap, err fluff of the original. It’s pretty hot, pretty hot. Especially trying to say “pink wigs, get ass” over and over again. I ended up saying “pig wings” while slicing the air; all while I was going low and thinking about much more fabulous my life would be if I wore wigs. I totally think this edit should be one of Nicki’s next singles. I think America needs this, download here.

You know for a while I have been feeling the juke bubble just growing bigger and bigger and I think this might finally be its year! This remix by Star Slinger-if turned up to 190 bpm-would be a ridiculous crazy euphoric experience, don’t you think? Regardless at its original state it’s fabulous and just make the point that Nicki Minaj is just great, especially great to rework, cut and loop. I hope Nicki plays her cards well and turns into our next Liza, Elizabeth or Judy and I hope this year to hear some more juke, lawd knows I have to ‘watch my feet’ sometime this year.

Another epic leak has happened from the Kanye West camp; this time being the unfinished version of what could’ve been have been an epic premiere of music video Monster, directed by Jake Nava. After seeing Kanye’s discontent with his album being leaked, I’m sure this news is not sitting well for the artist. But with all the leaked clips of this video leading up to today, I guess it was only time before the entire video came out prematurely.
