No Female DJs, Lots Of [Almost] Naked Rave Girls—Does EDM Have A Sexism Problem? 

Several weeks ago, we caught a Facebook post by electro star Peaches, whose sexually-charged career has challenged the norms of mainstream sexuality since her first hit, “Fuck The Pain Away.” The presumably feminist performer called out UK dance music magazine DJ Mag’s annual reader-voted Top 100 DJ List for containing zero women. “DJ MAG! Your Top 100 DJ boy club list can eat a dick! Where the ladies at???” wrote the often controversial performer. Look around the dance floor (and the online), and it seems the ladies are everywhere—in various states of undress.

Kanye’s Very Naked Video For “Power” (NSFW?) (Video)

Here’s the version of Kanye’s “Power” video you won’t see on MTV—because there’s lots of boobs and butts. Kanye hasn’t been shy about naked females for some time. He did several live performances featuring nudity for the 808s and Heartbreak release. But this newest naked project is kinda a cross between Renaissance art and the occasional bare breast that popped up in the old Dungeons & Dragons monster manual. Which makes the possible album title, Dark Twisted Fantasy, a little obvious if you ask us. It also really begs the question—is this actually not safe for work?

Clipse – Fresh to Death (Video)

The hip-hop power duo used to be pretty prevalent in the days of old[er]. Unfortunately, such groups are all-but-chillin’ in between sedimentary rock and dinosaur bones. Thank God for the Clipse because they have been holding down the two-dope-rappers niche like nobody else.  With names like “Pusha” and “Malice,” it is easy to jump to conclusions and say that Clipse aren’t for the kids but here at URB, we always look before we leap. We caught up with one half of the powerhouse group (Malice) to talk  Til The Casket Drops, what fuels classics and why Malice’s new book will probably give kids some much-needed insight.
