Last week we posted a video of N.E.R.D. performing a new song, “Hypnotize U” reportedly produced by Daft Punk, live on Letterman. Response was mixed to say the least. Now we have the studio version popping up which honestly sounds a lot better than when Pharrell trys to sing it live (even surrounded by a bunch of hot chick.) One might wonder why a group featuring producer superstars The Neptunes need to bring in the french dance gods, then we remember how forgettable the last Neptunes record was. Did you know Die Antwoord and Interscope/Cherrytree records are in label marriage? Yeah, Interscope/Cherrytree is releasing a reworked version of Die Antwoord’s previous album that was up on their site titled, $0$, which is set to be released October 12. I wonder if the majors are giving them a little bit of money for some visuals à la Fever Ray/The Knife. I know for sure that Deadmau5, Die Antwoord and N.E.R.D will all be on the bill when they visit Chicago. Personally, this seems like an amazing time, one that will bring out all the kids and force me to have dinner outside of my early bird special time slot but one that will definetely be worth the hip bruises. Join our team as they get the drop on the secret SF spot and give you a special view of the show and the people around them. The spirit and energy of the performers definitely permeated through the crowd and lifted the event up into truly epic territory. A packed house, filled the spot and exploded with the start of Asher’s show, only coming down to subside with the short intermission between both sets.
