Drake explains why recording mixtapes should be approached as a selfless process. I’m not sure why this is just starting to become the norm. It always boggled my mind when I’d see unknown artists attempting to SELL a tape full of mediocre, poorly-recorded material. If an artist gives away quality music, it’s only natural that the people will want to come back and support that artist when it’s time to release their album.
Real recognize real. This shit ain’t rocket science.
Donny Goines’ resolute display of passion, hunger and a love for music could easily be read as a sign that hip hop has seeped through his pores from the time he recognized his ability to listen. His efforts, however, have brought him to a time and place that calls for change; as redundant as the word may sound when hitting politically-inclined ears, in the music industry, change is always necessary, and almost mandatory. With his recently-released EP Rocksmith Tokyo & Donny Goines Presents 20Xhaving garnered a different sort of buzz for a rapper most noted for abundant lyricism, allow him to reintroduce himself as an all-embracing force to be reckoned with.

The journey was documented on “Summit on the Summit: Kilimanjaro,” which premiered on MTV Sunday night. It’s refreshing to see MTV finally air something substantial. If you didn’t catch the premiere read on to learn more about the Summit and how you can get involved today:
The Summit on the Summit is a mission that probably sounds familiar. The name has …
I want to shoot myself in the face after watching this. Snooks asks Phoenix if there are guidos in France, brings up Twilight (ahh!) and makes it clear she has never heard one of their songs–which is a pretty big indicator that she is a lost soul since the boys were everywhere in the last year. Oh, and the “related” video is Snookie meeting Priest… as in, Judas Priest. The cosmos are aligning in a very bad way.
On first appearance Theophilus London is just about as odd as his name. So it’s no surprise that his top five things about him run the gamut from Joy Division to a fascination with shapes (with some self promotion.) All things considered, lil’ homey can get down on the mic so don’t let the look fool you. Swiped from herfection.
