As mentioned before in my previous post on Unsound, it’s a festival that is known for enticing its demographic with risks, rewards and thematic atmosphere. With the theme of horror being the crux of the whole weekly event, there was ways that anything and everything could go wrong. However, just when one would think the undertaking of layering an entire festival with a theme would turn out horrific (no pun intended), somehow the curtain comes down to show off something off-kilter yet preserved in its magnificence. Unsound 2010 in Krakow, from start to finish, was one of the most daring and endearing festivals to ever come about. …MORE
After Saturday’s blowout, the easy assumption is that Sunday would be a more mellow affair. This was true to a degree as the day started later than usual, but with only one night to go, people were ready to close out Mutek 2010 with a bang.

The announcement of Unsound Festival NY came very suddenly, and just as sudden was the wave of momentum provided by artists, promoters and media sponsors (like ourselves) alike. From the Upper West Side, to the West Village and throughout the bastion of “hip” that is Williamsburg, Brooklyn, Unsound NY is making its mark as a premier electronic festival in New York City. The opening weekend was a surefire to start to a week that’s still in full-on electronic mayhem mode; from breathtaking visuals to Warhol films to the debut of one of the most acclaimed techno groups in recent history, the beginning of Unsound Festival NY has cemented its status as one of the most important cultural festivities in New York City, besides that CMJ thing.

With the ever-evolving Unsound Festival coming stateside for the first time (and of all places, New York), URB will be presenting a multitude of media in the coming days that will include exclusive unreleased MP3s, mixes and interviews from the artists who will make up the roster for Unsound Festival New York. To start with, analog-loving duo nsi. (Tobias Freund and Max Loderbauer) has been gracious enough to give us an unreleased track to put up. “Mont” is made up of ominous piano chords, analog ticking and open-mindedness. It’s minimalistic in nature but maximal in enjoyment.
nsi. will be performing in the intriguing and definitely hype-generating Warhol Series of Unsound, which will also include Detroit techno legend Carl Craig. For more info on the event, click HERE.
More info on the event and the MP3 after the jump.
