TOKiMONSTA ft MNDR – Go With It | SXSW Dates Announced (MP3)

We first got wind of this collab after the release date announcement (April 2nd) for TOKi’s forthcoming album, Half Shadows.  It made perfect sense that these two indie darlings would eventually collide as they share space on Ultra’s roster.

This matchup stands as one of those that could be called ‘perfect.’  MNDR gained notoriety for her angelic voice, and TOKiMONSTA gained her fan adoration through angelic (read dazzling) production.  Pun intended, the collab was a match made in heaven (insert rimshot here).  Go With It, the second drop from the aforementioned album is lightweight aural ambrosia combining TOKi’s dancing chimes and conga style drum patterns with MNDR’s signature Metatronic vocals.  One of the reasons it took us so long to post this on the SF URB …

Erykah Badu “Jump in the Air” feat. Lil Wayne Video + LA/NYC Listening Parties (Video)

http://www.erykahbadu.com/

for the jaw-dropping, envelope pushing “Window Seat” Video.  “Group Think” is a really dope theme. Below is the “Jump in the Air and Stay there” video featuring your favorite singer’s favorite incarcerated rapper in a kaleidoscope. To say I’m really looking forward to the 3/20/2010 release is an understatement.

Erykah’s Nu Amerykah Part 2 : The Ankh looks like it will be just as mind blowing as the previous disc. With contributions from Lil’ Wayne, Madlib, Ta’Raach, Shafiq Husayn, Questlove?, etc I’ll be eternally grateful if I get another chance to see her perform this time around. Then again cool videos don’t hurt either, and if your in LA, or NYC you may actually get to see a once in a lifetime show.  {Thumbs up to Thundercatt who keeps his tumblr game up just like the bass. Get familiar.}
