I got to see Reggie “Nobody Famous” Perry perform at USC’s fall-fest a couple weeks ago with J.Cole. He had them college kids waving and bobbing to his own renditions of Kanye’s “Flashing Lights” to Outkast’s “ATLiens.“ Nobody Famous recently answered acouple questions regarding the ATL music scene, his new workshop for aspiring hip hop artists, and his Project Generation D. More on this past URB intern after the jump!
Busdriver, a prolific rapper that has only recently made a website (citing his computer cooties) has dropped a free mixtape for download at said website. This marks the Anti-Records signed rapper’s first foray into the free mixtape world. Busdriver flows over tunes from Monsters of Folk, Nosaj Thing, and Wolf Parade, to name a few. It is a cornucopia of musical genres in free mixtape form. And just in time for the holidays!
Das Racist along with a little bit of help from their friends (Diplo, Mishka, Scoop Deville, Devo Springsteen, Boi-1da, Dame Grease, Chairlift etc.) have released their second mixtape titled Sit Down, Man. You should download this because it’s fun, funny, critical and after many accusations made against us this week over not sharing enough ‘underground’ talent, this is definitely something to cure your insatiable ear/eye/tongue. Download the mixtape here and find out about their release party over at DJ Booth.
