Promotor calls out MF Doom Claims theft

Tags: , , ,

MF Doom showed up at Wednesday’s show in Atlanta (pitchfork has pictures to prove it), but the promotor of Thursday’s show is claiming that the masked one left fans “feeling cheated.” He goes on to accuse Doom’s “appointed doorman” of stealing the door money. In response, the promotor has leaked the MC’s personal information to the world at large.

The email is signed by Randy Castello / Tight Bros Network, an Atlanta-based promotor, and came from a MySpace bulletin sent out by the show’s venue, Drunken Unicorn. He goes on to list Doom’s address and phone number (sorry, fan boys and bill collectors, it’s irresponsible to paste it here).

Another round of Luckyiam’s candor

Sorry to all readers…I've been slackin on my bloggin. I'm sorry. Let me catch up.

This is a long ass Blog. Be careful.

Grieves and I went to Perkins to grab some late night/early morning food. The cab driver that dropped us off at our hotel was there eating by himself at 4 in the morning. We ordered our food to go then we went and sat with him at his table to wait. This guy had filthy hands…motor oil deeply sunk into his fingernails and he was hovering over a plate of eggs, hashbrowns, a ham steak and blueberry muffin with butter smeared inside of it. He started talking to us about the government and the general deception and disillusionment Amercians reside in… he was one of the smartest people I've met in a …

Invizibl Men, Super Chron–Don’t Sleep!

I hope to have more up in the future about Backwoodz Studios and their artists, as well as their contemporaries Uncommon Records, headed by NASA, former studio ace for Def Jux and half of the Presence. For now, I received the announcement below about the Invizibl Men, who given the quality of other Backwoodz projects like Super Chron Flight Brothers' Emergency Powers (2007) and the totally unheralded supergroup the Reavers' Terror Firma (2005), should not disappoint. The label's hallmark is daring rap, in both artistic and political terms, and rather than self-consciously oppose the mainstream, they play their lane like champions and harvest some serious styles.

Uncommon's mission, as NASA describes it himself, is “progressive Hip-Hop.” I don't want to tangle the two imprints up too much, but they're definitely on the …

Stones, balls and zombies

2K Sports has been upping their cred as of late. Not only producing games that are actually pretty dope (All Pro-Football 2K8 was alright, but last years NBA 2K7 was the bomb explosive in the most positive way), but for the past several years they've enlisted indie hip-hop's finest to produce the complementing soundtracks to their games for folks to nod their head to.

In the past they had Dan the Automator, and with this year's All-Pro Football they had Z-Trip which saw all the Roots to Rakim to Redman rapping about schooling suckas on the courts or in the field. In continuing that trend, this year is no different. What they've got lined up for this year's NBA outing is that they've tapped Stones Throw presidente Peanut Butter Wolf to compile B-Ball Zombie War, an album with …
