Gilles Peterson’s Havana Cultura Band – Think Twice (4hero Remix feat. Danay & Carina) (MP3)

Here’s a great song from Gilles Peterson’s Havana Cultura Band featuring an interpretation of J Dilla’s classic from Welcome to Detroit.  The song, Think Twice is now remixed by Marc Mac of 4hero featuring Danay & Carina with a nice Cuban twist.  Taken from the upcoming Brownswood Recordings release, Gilles Peterson Presents Havana Cultura Remixed, other remixes features Louie Vega, MJ Cole, Carl Cox, Seiji, and many others, creating new interpretations to the already amazing project featuring some of Cuba’s most inspiring new generation of musicians.

Mickey Factz at Chicago’s Wicker Park Fest

This past weekend, Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood had its local festival on Milwaukee Ave., home of Leaders1354 and St. Alfred, where Mickey Factz performed. As is evident by the jump rope he came on stage with, Mickey’s performance was energetic and captivating. Check out the pictures and see firsthand.

Jay-Z at Charter One Pavilion – Chicago – Jul 7

When Jay-Z took the stage on Tuesday, Jul 7th at the Charter One Pavilion in Chicago, he dropped all the classics as well as paying special tribute to Michael Jackson on the same day as his memorial service in LA.
