Phase 2 of Ultra Music Festival 2010 Announced (Video)

The anticipation is building and you heard it here, folks. Phase 2 of Ultra Music Festival 12 was just announced and it looks like the producers are pulling out all the stops to bring the absolute best of the best in electronic dance music. With the festival just over 40 days away, we can only imagine what surprises they have up their sleeves.

This year’s UMF represents one of the strongest and most diverse electronic line-ups ever assembled with the addition of collaborators Damian Marley & Nas, Faithless Sound System, Groove Armada Live, Will.I.Am and ummm..Little Boots. And that’s just the beginning.

The Chilean-by-way-of-Switzerland proves that he is a masterful arranger, sampler and sound designer, particularly when working with vocals of all types. It's only fitting that this collection begins with "Los Ninos de Fuera", which is essentally a carefully looped vocal track over syncopated drums and handclaps. Movement 2009 – Day Two

The second day of Movement 2009 started and ended with the sound of techno, but the day was marked far more by the adventurous sounds heard in between. A stage was over-run by dancers, hip hop legends collaborated in a turntable freestyle session and more than a few beats were broken.

The 28th Annual International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA)

The 28th Annual International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) ceremony will occur at York College Performing Arts Center in Queens, New York on Sunday, May 3, 2009.

Performing live will be critically acclaimed artists Beenie Man, his wife D’Angel, Queen Ifrica, Cocoa Tea, Mighty Sparrow, Alison Hinds, Tarrus Riley, Dean Fraser, Calypso Rose, Tony Rebel, Gramps Morgan, Lt. Stitchie, Awilo-Soukous Band, Barbee, Mutabaruka, and Duane Stephenson.

Dancehall deejay Mavado (”I’m So Special”) leads the pack with nominations in eight categories. Movement: DEMF 07 Day 3

Day three of DEMF 2007 started at a static pace perfect for easing off some of the exhaustion from the previous two days’ activities, and, like all good finales, it built it’s way to an uproarious conclusion with a Detroit legend returning home to a welcome crowd.

After shaking off the effects of the previous night and finding that I’d completely lost my voice sometime during the previous evening, it was nice to arrive to the hefty ambiance coming from the machines controlled Vladislav Delay. The rhythm took a back seat to the mood for this set a the Finnish musician was cascading tone waves and intermittent clicks and gasps across the sunbathed Main Stage pavilion.

The set was a pleasant deviation from all the heavy beats …
