Los Angeles to London, Daedelus, Tokimonsta and Lazer Sword, warehouse styles

In a meeting of Los Angeles beat and bass stylings with the UK’s secret warehouse pseudo-rave ups, on Wednesday February 23rd, Daedelus, Tokimonsta and Lazer Sword (alongside Philly’s Starkey and London’s Patchwork Pirates) play at an undisclosed location in east London with the Earnest Endeavours label and collective. This show follows up the Earnest Endeavours x Nosaj Thing UK AV debut and the celebratory Kutmah show for his prison art solo show, “Two Soups And A Honeybun”. (Watch out for the Los Angeles launch of Kutmah’s art show in May.) This secret London warehouse rave is set to be a banger and coincides with Daedelus’s new record on Ninja Tune, “Bespoke” and the Tokimonsta remix of ‘Tailor-Made’, that is available to …

Bilal :: “Levels” (Directed by Flying Lotus) (Video)

Check out the third clip from Bilal’s 2010 album, Airtight’s Revenge, for the song “Levels” ft. Erykah Badu, Thundercat, and Shafiq Husayn (who produced the track). The video was directed by none other than Steve Ellison (aka Flying Lotus). This might be FlyLo’s directing debut, but if the clip looks a bit familiar, here’s why.

“I originally wanted to keep visual themes with another video from my last LP called ‘mmhmm’ off of my last album,” says Ellison. “It featured Thundercat as an intergalactic bass player in a super strange world created by ‘Special Problems’. Since Thundercat was part of this song, I thought it could be fun to continue the visual style and feel of this space opera. In the end you have this crazy video made of so much mixed media, geek dreams and lots of love.”

PREMIERE :: 87 Stick Up Kids “Lights, Camera” (Video)

Los Angeles hip-hop foursome The 87 Stick Up Kids have been on their grind lately—prepping their first album, Car Keys & Rabbit’s Feet, performing monthly at legendary ladies club Crazy Girls, and even getting ready to release their first t-shirt collab, TITS x Malice x The 87 Stick Up Kids.

Here’s the video for the song “Lights, Camera,” the first single off Car Keys & Rabbit’s Feet. SK-87’s DJ Rockwell describes the clip, directed by Tyler King as “Public Enemy, the Joker’s gang from Batman and Project Mayhem.” He pretty much nails it.

P.U.R.E presents TopBananas, “Waiting For My Time To Come” official video for DigiNovel soundtrack. (Video & MP3)

I’m excited to finally share the P.U.R.E. drop on this new music video for the soundtrack to the DigiNovel “Please Use Rear Exit” written by Brandon Perkins(former Senior Editor of Urb Magazine). If your not already aware of the the vividly written character descriptions and at times sci-fi-ish chapters here’s a quick PLEASE USE REAR EXIT video synopsis:: When Mikhail walks into an uber-exclusive club in chapter 15, there’s a song playing that instantly puts some pep in his step. This is a video for that song. The debut video tours Los Angeles’ real-life bus system while maintaining P.U.R.E’s otherworldly spirit.

“Waiting For My Time To Come” was written and recorded by Norman Foote II (TopBananas) also URB alum, and mixed by Scott Friedman.

Listen to the chorus, you won’t be disappointed. This song is hot! And, so are the headphones with the gold accents! Dayyummm ;)

Listen + Download + Pass it on.
