It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.
Charles Dickens can have his two cities. The way the comment boards have been buzzing around the Hip-Hop blogosphere, the only two things of note at the moment are Jay-Z’s The Blueprint 3 and Raekwon’s Only Built 4 Cuban Linx Pt. II, both of which leaked in the past two days. What the buildup, the leak and the early reception has proven, if anything, is that nobody knows how the fuck to handle this internet business. A brief look at the two albums:
The Blueprint 3- Jay-Z, one of the richest and most successful artists of all-time returns at 40 to continue his Blueprint series. At this point, a Jay-Z release is a global event. The man basically strong armed his way toward releasing the record on …
A couple days ago, a teaser image was found on the Incase blog hinting at a Incase x DQM x HUF project – this could be part of it. Here we have two Incase Messenger Bags – one red (HUF) and one blue (DQM) – that were given to HUF and DQM to use “as a canvas”, each bag featuring patches, and logos that have become synonymous with each company. This one is for the hardcore kids! Adidas got together with harcore label Revelation Records to remix the popular Campus model. Apparently this collaboration marks and celebrates the 150th release from Revelation Records and company. Any RR fan will surely recognize the color combination as well as the numerous logos and patches throughout the shoe. Already a great looking shoe made even nicer with this get together.

Thanks to the great folks at Universal Motown, I was one of the first people to check out Lil’ Wayne’s new single, ‘Prom Queen.’ If you haven’t heard, his next album is going to be a rock album. I know. You’re probably wondering the same thing I am, but rest assured, the album will go double platinum. Mark my word. But that’s neither here nor there. Apparently, it’s every rap artist’s ideal to want to cross over and no longer be seen as a rap artist but an ARTIST. You know, like Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel status. Jay hasn’t even been able to make it there.
The crazy part though is that Weezy is doing everything Kanye wishes he could do. He’s made a slow transition from being a hood rapper, …
