Hailing from Germany, the son of immigrant parents, Loco Dice has been one of techno’s premier ambassadors for over a decade, sharing DJ booths and record labels with the likes of global superstars Richie Hawtin, Carl Craig and Dubfire among others. But rarely does this superstar make his was to the good old U.S. of A., where his brand of underground techno still fights an uphill battle against the the poppier side of electronic music. In December, Dice will make a rare voyage to the states to play some select gigs around the country. Enigmatic Chilean-German DJ/producer Ricardo Villalobos has been added to the Movement Detroit line-up. The “secret artist” was announced via the Movement website. Villalobos will perform at 7pm this Sunday, May 28 on Movement’s main stage. He will also appear Sunday night on the Voyage Royale: I’m on a Boat 3 afterparty featuring Sven Väth, Loco Dice vs. Stacey Pullen and Matthew Hawtin on Sunday night following his Movement set.
