Kidz In The Hall Release Party @ SOB’s

Like many album release parties, the plan was to showcase the album and its highlights, said highlights being the guest spots and appearances aka the “in crowd” of contemporary underground. Tim William and his band the Arcade All-Stars opened up to an unreceptive crowd of on-lookers. Not due to the lack of quality, but more so because of the placement. When sandwiching a rock band that has punk tendencies with R&B vocals between two DJ’s (DJ TimBuk2 and Just Blaze, respectively) you’re gonna have to expect to loose some folks.

URB is at A3C…36 Mafia, Clipse, B.o.B., and Wale still to come!

Day1 of the A3C Hip Hop Festival in Atlanta, GA has gone down. If you love hip hop (beyond ringtone rappers)…then you will be at Day2 and Day3.

The three room venue, CW Midtown is currently home to one of the best festival productions I have ever seen. The vendors and booths are fitting…from a ltd edition sneaker shop to the URB Barbershop. Security and entrance was not annoying. Just make sure to bring cash for the bar.

Little Brother was the highlight of Day1 for me, coming with yet another outstanding show–they’ve really got it together when it comes to knowing how to be PERFORMERS. I loved hearing a few Minstrel Show jams, but (and it’s rare I say this) hearing tracks off their newest album was the best part–they turned the concert into the dancefloor, …
