@delunafest We Lost Linkin’ Park (Video & MP3)

Noooo! Due to injuries sustained by Chester Bennington, I regret to inform you that Linkin’ Park will no longer be able to perform at the DeLuna Fest on Sunday night. The DeLuna Fest is offering Sunday refunds for those who bought a one day ticket but what would you rather do: stay at home and play x-box 360 or have this gigantic version of Sunday Funday (Plus, why miss URB featured artists like Cut Copy and K. Flay?). But this puts me in a bad spot, I wanted to start my Countdown to DeLuna Fest with Linkin’ Park but now, I have to find someone else to promote.

Actually, screw it, I was excited to post a Linkin’ Park blog …

And then (get this), jumping in the mosh pit for some Linkin Park and Jane’s Addiction!!

Linkin Park Tours With The Prodigy, Pendullum and Does It Offend You, Yeah? (Video & MP3)

Earlier this fall, rap-rock unit shifters Linkin Park surprised a whole lot of folks with their latest album, the Rick Rubin helmed A Thousand Suns, which found the group going deeper into the electronic idiosyncrasies formerly buried under walls of guitar and screamo-rap on their previous albums. Described as “Linkin Park’s Kid A,” critics took notice while most LP fans seem to be along for the ride.

Now the group has announced a US tour, featuring electronic acts more likely to be found on a UK festival stage rather than in the heartland of America. The Prodigy, of course, rode the first wave of electronica hype to it’s highest U.S. peak in the late ’90s, while newer acts Pendullum and Does It Offend You, Yeah? represent the latest generation of crossover appeal.

King Fantastic – Why? Where? What? (MP3)

Gangster Never Left

A concise study in Westcoastsynthesizerbeachbumgangstermusic, as interpreted by Killer Reese One and Troublemaker.

King Fantastic’s debut album, Finger Snaps and Gun Claps, will be released June 15th on Hollyrock, through digital distributor DashGo, and direct-to-fan platform Topspin Media.

King Fantastic consists of two prolific West Coast artists: Killer Reese One and Troublemaker. Killer Reese One is one half of Los Angeles rap group Bleu Collar, and is not only a gifted lyricist, but also an accomplished fine artist who has contributed works to openings in Southern California. Troublemaker is an internationally known DJ and producer, also from the City of Angels, who has toured and worked with artists across the musical spectrum and received critical acclaim for his remixes of artists such as Johnny Cash, Linkin Park, Matt and Kim featuring De La Soul, and Nina Simone.

As two Los Angeles natives who grew up listening to hip hop, and specifically West Coast gangster rap, they have come together on a modernized ode to the music that inspired them. The genesis and genius of their work is the minimalistic lyrics and production, which come crispy and clean, and hard and heavy, with every song.

In support of the upcoming album, here is a free mp3 download of the song “Why? Where? What?” which is an excellent representation of the direction of the album.  Stay tuned for the official music video for this song coming soon as well….
