Hip Hop photographer Derick G. posted this behind the scenes look at the making of Lil Wayne and Eminem’s music video for the single “Drop The World”. The video was shot in LA and directed by ATL’s Chris Robinson. Tune into MTV March 11th, 2010 to catch the premier.

Two fifths of the Surf Club crew give the run down on the construction of the production (haha) for Lil Wayne and Eminem’s recent collaboration. THE EXCELLENT: With all the hoopla surrounding The Grammys, The Roots Jam Session is the hands-down winner for high-quality and a star-studded turnout. It was the summer of 2008 and two of rap music’s elite–that is, two individuals from a genre of alpha male ethos– dropped a pair of bangers, which heard T.I. and Lil Wayne crooning rather than ripping rhymes, “Whatever You Like” and ”Lollipop,” respectively. Since concocting the sound of said-quasi-romantic classics, producer Jim Jonsin’s production resume has begun to inflate rapidly, prolifically making dirty songs for girls and the boys that love them.

What would a day be like if I didn’t drop new Drizzy goods? Fortunately, there is a treasure trove of tracks and hoopla to add to this full-fledged Drizzy of a storm… Late last nite, the track “Love & Gunz” started surfacing on the web. The not-so mysterious leak was from Tha Bizness, who decided to leak the song a day early to show that they could after a Lil Wayne song made it out early. You can read about it on their blog. The track caters to Drake’s grittier side (I know!), but I’m digging it. Don’t worry if you can’t keep up, next week there will be an entirely new slew of mysterious tracks because that’s the nature of this beast.

When one of LA’s hottest producers picks up tracks by hip-hop’s reigning prince and indie’s love-torn darlings, only good things will come of it. Here Nosaj Thing remixes Drake’s “Forever” and The xx’s “Islands,” which, in a few words, sound like he sprinkled stardust on the tracks and this “Islands” remix is infinitely better than the original.
