Robot Koch (Review)

Robot Koch

Death Star Droid

Released by Robots Don't Sleep

Robert Koch's nom de beat, "Robot," is more than a play on words. If it was just that, it'd be stupid. The idea of an indeterminate grey area between human and machine pervades every element of his debut, and so just as he's retrofitted his human name into a piece of equipment so he struggles throughout Death Star Droid to find humanity within his equipment. It's a heady, intermittently brilliant trip, recalling most directly in its plush post-hip-hop bounce Flying Lotus's Los Angeles moreso than Koch's glitchy and club-centric ...

Vegas: Networking on CRACK…no really, on crack!

Vegas is pulsating… at this very moment this city is swarming with tastemakers, beat killers, creative believers, and pop-persona's galore!!

It’s URB's bi-annual trip out to Vegas for the street wear and fashion tradeshows. These days its not just one or two tradeshows per a season but rather there's a plethora of shows which editors, publishers, stylists, know-it-all's, and linked in folks of all walks of life come to be a part of…

Tony Stamolis was my man. I had my shooter, but what about my team? We also needed to find hair …

Kickin’ it with Kanye…and his Mom!

Kanye's literary PhD of a mother is showing the world how to cultivate a celebrity musician in her new book, “Raising Kanye”.

After I got some photos, I headed over to the line with the common-folk and waited my turn to meet Mr. West and the woman behind the man. The entire event was pretty low-key, so there were only about 100 people there who were either randomly in the store or heard about his appearance from Border’s E-Newsletter, very intimate.

I introduced myself to Kanye and …
