Kidz in the Hall – Land of Make Believe (Review)

Kidz in the Hall

Land of Make Believe

Released by Duck Down Records

“The moment we have worked for has come to a crossroad,” said Naledge recently. “We strive for success in this music industry, but we have never taken time to look ourselves in the mirror and analyze what this industry has made us.” The duo has definitely been doing some soul searching, and from the sound of Land of Make Believe, Naledge and Double-O picked up a boat-load of confidence during their journey of introspection. Not only is the album jam-packed with bass-heavy head nodders perfect for blaring from your car’s stereo system, but it’s also laced with classical instrumentation and a hodgepodge of sounds from various genres, giving Kidz in the Hall’s sound more substance and depth without a single dull moment. And they didn’t do it alone: Naledge and Double-O invited everyone from MC Lyte and Marsha Ambrosius to Just Blaze and Colin Munroe – just to name a few – making for an album that packs an in-your-face punch full of amusing surprises.

Naledge hilariously spends most the video trying to talk to girls who don’t seem too thrilled with him. Ah well, at least they look fresh.
