As Coalmine Records edges closer to the 2nd Quarter release of their long awaited compilation, Unearthed, the Brooklyn indie drops the project’s next single, “Naturally Born,” which features Q-Borough mic veterans Big Noyd, Large Professor and Kool G Rap. Produced by the legendary Queens-based beatsmith Ayatollah, the soundscape is rooted in a Golden Era motif that boasts a scratch chorus courtesy of DJ Dutchmaster, who blends quotables from other Queens County icons such as Run-D.M.C., Nas, N.O.R.E., Royal Flush and Prodigy. Queens is definitely in the building, so hit the jump as these three natural born spitters rep their Q-Borough with pride.
The word?
This song is banging. Talk about horrorscopes? zodiac thrillers and killers, and some remixing of old lyrics, killing time and sort of a twist into the abyss of a spiral downward beat, I can only imagaine the craziest video to a crazy beat.
@Rza and @koshadillz w/ @therealkoolGRap – “Operator”
The most unexpected collaboration in the entire world has happened. The chances of this collabo happening (to be expected) was like austrailia and canadian military forces planning to take over the world with nuclear weapons….and well.. it did. Koll G Rap does him while Rza layces the beat hook and Kosha Dillz goes in for the last supper or Passover …
Big L
Return Of The Devil's Son
Released by Distrolord/SMC Recordings
As for raw spit-game, there may have been none better than Big L. An MC every bit as witty as he was gritty, hip-hop's core circle still mourns his early passing. Many heads consider Mr. 139 & Lennox's debut Lifestylez Of Da Poor And Dangerous something of a classic; arguments to the contrary could be offered but only on the production end, plus that does a disservice to one of the best to ever do this rap thing.
