Hyperdub Celebrates Five Years

According to Resident Advisor, Kode9’s acclaimed Hyperdub label is set to celebrate five years of existence in the form of a forthcoming double CD compilation. The set, entitled 5: Five Years of Low End Contagion will satisfy dubstep heads with a disc of unreleased material from Joker, Martyn, Cooly G, Flying Lotus, Darkstar, Burial and others. The second CD will act as a ‘Best of’ collection and collect an impressive handful of the label’s previously released tracks and remixes.

Vinyl junkies need not despair; 5 will be preceeded by a series of five weekly-released 12″ samplers featuring the unreleased material from disc 1. Look for the first 12″es to start appearing in late Sep, while the CD’s are slated for an Oct 19 release.

LTJ Bukem Returns With FabricLive Mix

After a serveral year sabbatical, dolphin jungle D&B godfather LTJ Bukem has announce his return to active duty with a mix CD for Fabric and a relaunch of his Good Looking record label.

For the mix, out in Jun in the UK, Bukem kept a stricts live-only rule, stating, “For me personally, I wanted it to be exactly what I do on a Friday night, strictly dubplates and records.”

The 87 Stick-Up Kids have selected the winner for the URB.com remix contest, Parisian crunk alchemist Gloumi.
