These kids from Monterrey are too cool for the USA. Though they live just over the border in Mexico, they seem to be striking out with each visa application and attempt to enter the States. This March, while other bands trek to Austin for SXSW, Quiero Club will headline the MtyMX Festival in their hometown. But that is not to say the band is not trying to deliver its pop music savvy stateside and their too-good-to-be-legal sound is completely current.

I’ve heard of these guys before from my beautiful latina girlfriends who are fanatics but I’ve never taken the time to fully immerse myself in the Kinky sound. So I decided to do some homework (googling). Kinky is a cross between electro dance music and rock en espanol with a dash of accordion (thats right every body I said accordion).
The guys are all from Nuevo Leon Mexico which explains there Norteno influence eg. “Sister Twisted”. The crowds cheered the lights dimmed and the guys came out to a crowd of beautiful latin ladies. Kinky’s lyrics are 99 percent spanish but just because your songs are in spanish doesn’t mean your fans were all …
