Steve Aoki + Travis Barker + Kid Cudi = All Kinds of Madness or in this case, Cudi the Kid. Continuing the visual initiative behind his debut studio album ‘Wonderland’ and in support of the Cudi the Kid single dropping out into music outlets everywhere, we were privy to the a special live performance during his Beyond Wonderland set.  After catching the live performance, be sure to check the official music video.  Words don’t justify the imagery laid out, but the words surreal and creepy clowns come to mind. Kid Cudi ft. Cage :: “Maniac” (Directed by Shia Lebeouf) (Video)

Kid Cudi has been working out his acting chops a lot lately. His role as the dog walking, weed dealing Domingo Brown on this season’s How To Make It In America has been taken up a few notches, and now he’s released this short film for the song “Maniac” where he flashes that winning Cudi grin while going on a murderous rampage with fellow serial killer Cage.

Shot in Detroit last winter, but with dialog entirely in French, this clear hommage to the 1992 film Man Bites Dog offers the similar premise of a film crew following around a killer as he does his grizzly deeds. But even if you’ve seen the Gen-X cult classic, that doesn’t …

Wale ft. Kid Cudi :: “Focused” #fail (MP3)

Was it that long ago that Wale and Kid Cudi were two of the most promising young MCs coming up with their own creative rebuttal to hip-hop’s stagnant pop posturing while bring along a new generation of neon hipsters along for the ride? “Focused” was recorded for Wale’s sophomore album, Ambition, but reportedly won’t make the final CD. Which is just as well, since the whole thing is a white-noise mess aimed straight at the lowest common denominator. Wale drops some lazy verses while Cudi probably didn’t even get out of bed to do the chorus, which sounds like it was recorded by some teenagers with an iPhone and an autotune app. This is seriously some uninspired shit.

Shia LeBeouf, Kid Cudi & Cage’s Violent Short Film Preview (Video)

Last winter, newly minted buddies Kid Cudi and Shia LeBeouf headed out to Detroit with Rhymesayers rapper Cage to run around in the cold and film an ultra-violent short film, just for the hell of it, with Shia directing the two MC/actors. Here’s a sneak peak at the result, a :30 preview for Maniac. We won’t tell you too much about the flick, only to tell you it’s not what you’re used to seeing from these various artists. But I guess a couple weeks in The D in December might make anyone a little “dark.” You’ll have to wait until October to find out more.
