Audio, Video, Disco, the second album by French duo Justice has a sparked a lot of debate over the new direction taken by the former electro kingpins. Now’s your chance to hear the way more melodic and rocking sound Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay have come up with since their debut album, Cross, hit hard in 2007.
Justice have let lose two new tunes from their album, Audio, Video Disco, which is due out Oct. 25th on Ed Banger Records. Both “Newlands” and “Canon” follow the French duo’s new template for mixing heavily filtered electronics with stadium-ready ’80s rock songwriting. “Newlands” in particular sounds straight off the soundtrack to some long lost Ally Sheedy flick, while “Canon” is a harder instrumental track that should satisfy that kid who got the Justice cross tattooed across his back in 2007. hear “Newlands” now, and “Canon” after the jump.
“Helix” is the third tune we’ve heard from Justice’s second album, Audio Video Disco, due out in October. The song blends the wheezy synths made famous the Paris duo and the rest of their compatriots at the Ed Banger record label with a more songcraft approach—even if the vocals are limited to a single two-syllable sample.
The unknown new track by Justice played by Busy P a couple weeks ago at HARD Summer now has an official name and high-quality leak. The tune shares the name of the PAris duo’s new album, Audio Video Disco, and the nice YouTube stream confirms the pleasent French-pop direction at least some of their new album is headed. We’ll find out how much on Oct. 15, when the recrod is released.
