We’ve had a week to recover, and we still can’t get over how much fun the second annual IndiOa2i2 party was at Coachella. SNL’s Andy Samberg “Boombox” feat. Julian Casablancas (Video)

If this video from SNL was the highlight of your weekend, I applaud you. It’s awesome and it almost–almost–redeems Julian Casablancas. Be warned, the boombox is not a toy!

The Strokes Behind the Scenes Recording Session (Video)

Further evidence that The Strokes are fully functioning and plugging away at their next album surfaced in the form of this behind the scenes video. However, the video might as well be a short film complete with dramatic outbursts, faux-serious voiceovers, and, at times, a little forced. Here the guys are at New York’s Avatar Studios working on a newbie, “Taken For A Fool,” with producer Joe Chiccarelli.

The Strokes x Fourth Album

It’s official! The Strokes’ website confirms that the band is in the process of recording their fourth studio album, the long-awaited follow up to First Impressions On Earth. Keep on checking their website for updates and additional “video vignettes” of the boys hard at work. Personally, I can’t wait to see/hear the results of this comeback album, especially after the supposed difficulties the old friends had been having for the past couple of years. In an interview with SPIN, Julian Casablancas, lead vocalist of The Strokes stated, “We’re not like people who go to the movies together. It’s weird with the band, a band is actually a great way to ruin a friendship.” Hold onto your tight …

The Strokes Working “Night and Day” on Fourth Release

While busy on the road in support of his solo album, Julian Casablancas said The Strokes are working “night and day” on their fourth album.

He told NYmag.com that the band is “different than before,” with all five members coming together as a group in a more harmonious manner.

“It’s night and day now,” he said. “Everyone is working as a group, ‘Let’s do it! Go team!’ Which is amazing. Which is what I wanted since day one. But that’s only happening now. Literally now.”

Before, Casablancas said, “We split the money six ways,” he explained (manager Ryan Gentles is the sixth recipient), “but we didn’t split the work.” Part of the problem had to do with each person’s workload.

So far, so good. “If I make it superclear why I was unhappy in the …
