This Labor Day weekend, Friday August 30 to Sunday September 1, Made Event presents the 5th annual Electric Zoo (EZ) music festival, returning to its old stomping grounds, Randall’s Island Park. To commemorate the milestone, EZ will host many of the world’s finest DJs and producers spread out among five stages.
On Wednesday, June 26, 2013, the U.S. Supreme Court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). It ruled that the proposition, which attempted to define a married couple as man and woman, is a violation of the rights of married gay couples. This is a truly historic process and resolution, as it was the first time the high court ever held a discourse to this extent over gay civil rights. Likewise, Proposition 8, which banned gay marriage in California, was overturned.
