Geoff Barrow Announces New Band, New Portishead Music.

Last year’s re-activation of Portishead seems to have really kicked the band’s sampling/electronics wizard into high gear. First, Barrow went to work producing the Horror’s second album, the brilliant Primary Colours. Now, he’s released an album by his new band, Beak, and has revealed that Portishead is back in the studio working on new music, which he described as possibly being a “multi-layered synthesizer record.’ A relief for all the fans who waited 11 years for the band’s last album, 2008’s Third.
