9th Wonder To Release 10 Albums in 2010

Beatmaker extraordinnaire 9th Wonder has announced a new deal with Arizona-based 101 Distribution, which will find the the producer taking on an A&R role for the company, and releasing an amazing 10 albums next year reports Hip-Hop DX.

A majority of the releases will be part of The Lost Beats series of instrumental outtakes previously helmed by DJ Premier, J Dilla and Da Beatminerz. Other releases will include projects from Tyler Woods and the third album by Murs & 9th Wonder, Sweet Lord.

Matthew Herbert Pigs Out

Highly politicized found sound auteur Matthew Herbert is at it again, this time, recording the life of a pig from birth to death to the meal that follows. I had dinner with Herbert once many years ago. He’s definately what one might call an over-thinker.

To document the project, he has started Herbert Pig blog, where heissued the following dogmatic statement:

“in 2010 i will release a record entitled ‘the pig’ [current title One Pig]

it will be made up entirely of sounds made during the life cycle of a pig.
i will be there at its birth
during its life
present at its death
and during the butchery process.

Another winning collab from Upper Playground! This Thursday, keep a look out for the release of the Herbert Baglione x Adidas sneaker (the first of a four part series). Acclaimed Brazilian fine artist, Herbert Baglione, is known for his simplistic and minimalist approach to painting while representing the coldness and competitiveness in people. Baglione took this same approach to this sneaker, creating a shoe that reflected his own personal tastes. So take a break from all your other colorful kicks, and take simplicity as a challenge :)
