Mos keeps on tryin’ to change the genre. It works on occasion, but not consistently. And while Shuggie Otis deserves his due deference, both the guitarist and this emcee have provided some stronger moments elsewhere.

So The Beatles: Rock Band video game is coming out soon. And although many doubt if it can compete with Guitar Hero, the marketing behind the game should get two thumbs up, particularly when it comes to the commericial. Check out the commercial below. Simply brilliant.

The NY Post has reported that New York University, one of America’s most prestigious universities will be offering a freshman seminar where the students play Guitar Hero.
The article states that prof. Gary Marcus plans on calling the course “Guitar Heroes (and Heroines): Music, Video Games and the Nature of Human Cognition.” (NY Post)
As if the ridiculousness of offering college credit for playing Guitar Hero wasn’t enough, it should be noted that the tuition per year for NYU is about $50,000.
The least surprising part of the article? There’s already a waiting list to take the course. Who didn’t see that coming?
