Headlining The Do LaB’s Lightning in a Bottle festival this Memorial Day weekend are Bassnectar and The Glitch Mob, returning to roots going back to 2007 when each act first appeared on the Lightning in a Bottle lineup and both the artists as well as the festival were beginning to find their voice and audience.
Looking for subtle, textured, intricate sound-design that only other producers could love? Then keep walking. The latest by MartyParty comes on like an evil clown selling wicked children frozen goodies laced with acid—all angry dubstep bass, grinding synths and the ubiquitous tune played by ice cream trucks the world over. Perhaps we’ve entered a new era of dance music—an analog to the beloved UK rave tunes of old that only now are we allowed to cop to owning a copy. Think early Prodigy or “Ebeneezer Goode.” Are you rushing? Are you rushing?
“Ice Cream Truck” comes fresh (or frozen) from Martin Folb’s new Sub ON EP, due out October 4th.

Com Truise is New Jersey designer/musician Seth Haley. His songs tap classic sci-fi and proto-electro in a way that is distinctly early eighties in scope, but they’re also remarkably psychedelic and ominous as if they were surrounded by dark matter. After his well-received Cyanide Sisters EP, the recently released Fairlight single, a grip of remixes for artists like Twin Shadow, Neon Indian, Daft Punk, and a few floating MP3s, Truise’s first LP, Galactic Melt, will finally enter our chambers in July. He will be debuting his live show on his first national tour this summer w/ Phantogram and Glitch Mob as well.

Kraddy has a remix EP out today. Here’s a taste, the Heavyweight Dub Champion remix of “Labyrinth.” Just make sure you’re in a sturdy enclosure before pressing play.
