Sean Falyon – Be Everywhere (MP3)

So if Rick Ross and the ghost of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. somehow had a child together, what would that golden boy sound like? Booming and raspy with a heaping plate full of soul, truth and gravy? You got it. Now, none of the lovely folks here at URB are scientists, but when Sean Falyon opens his mouth and wipes the floor with most of the game, it lends some damn near concrete evidence that the far-fetched scenario this review started out with is very possible. This Philly-to-Atlanta transplant has a sound that is distinct and has a great story to tell: his own. Over hard beats from the likes of Shiz Raw, The WeatherMen and SLADE (amongst others), Sean tells stories of the struggle as an artist, a variety of interactions/situations with the fairer sex and losing those …

Maja 7th and FSD Present – The Breakout (Mixtape) (MP3)

Good. It’s finally here! Produced entirely by Maja 7th and featuring appearances by Chi-towns finest, including Naledge, GLC, Freddie Gibbs, Mikkey Halsted, Pugs Atomz, Mic Terror, L.E.P. Bogus Boys, Dave Coresh, Phil G, and Juice, among others. Here’s what Maja himself had to say about the project:

Andrew and I stated working on this album around the 4th quarter of last year. I told him I had some beats I wasn’t using and I wanted to put out an album with predominantly Chicago artists. I had done some work with Killah Priest and some Wu-Affiliates and had been traveling around doing beat battles but I wanted to do something big for the city of Chicago. So we started making phone calls and people showed love. This album is about unity and showing these artists’ talents. It was my job to fuse those talents into a cohesive album. The goal wasn’t to make singles or club records. I just made music that felt right to me. - Maja 7th (Major)

Big shout to Andrew Baker and FSD, as well as everyone else who made this thing possible.
