Sonar 2011 Barcelona

International Festival of Advanced Music and Multimedia Art

URB spent another wonderful weekend in the amazing city of Barcelona for the annual Sonar Electronic Music Festival. And like year’s past, the spot on music programming combined with the wonderful Spanish city and always up-for-it European crowd to make Sonar a must-experience destination for music heads.

Gil Scott-Heron Tribute Mix By Gilles Peterson (MP3)

The first motive is to have as much fun as humanly possible.

A minor pall was cast over the evening when DJ Dez announced Gil Scott-Heron had passed while he was warming up the crowd. We all took a moment’s pause then kept it moving because a …

Music Video: Gil Scott-Heron & Jamie xx, “I’ll Take Care of U” (Video)

There’s always something so touching about boxers and seeing them just being normal people in cities with kids. Add the music and the lights and the action and you get something even more potent. [via P4K]
