Detroit Grand Pubahs – Madd Circus (Review)

Detroit Grand Pubahs

Madd Circus

Released by Det.Ele.Funk

There is little doubt that should he ever decide to pursue such a line of work, Paris the Black Fu would make one world class carnival barker. The man behind the many (ribald) personalities of Detroit Grand Pubahs is capable of articulating some of the most unexpected, hilarious and attention grabbing things ever to be spoken, and he’s certainly up to plenty more of that on his latest Detroit Grand Pubahs adventure with partner Mister O. But while in the past Funkadelic influences have dripped off of every techno ...

Live Review: Janelle Monae @ Apogee’s Berkeley Street Studio (06.19.10)

Live Review: Ebony Bones! @ The Echo in LA (02.05.10)

- As experienced by Svein Brunstad

Ebony Bones is perhaps the most chattered about act in London right now. She’s a one-of-a-kind producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist with a great rhythm section and backing vocalists. Named as one of SXSW’s best new acts of 2009, her critically acclaimed debut album Bone Of My Bones is slated for release in the US later this year. Known for playing a role on the British TV drama Family Affairs, Ebony Thomas has also been nominated for The British Soap Awards’ sexiest female. And some of that sexiness, in her self-designed costumes, shined on the lucky audience this rainy Friday night. …MORE
