Self Jupiter of Freestyle Fellowship and Kenny Segal are the Kleenrz. Their self titled EP will be released on July 31st via Nocando’s Hellfyre Club imprint and features Self Jupiter on the raps and Kenny Segal on production. The EP also features guest appearances from MURS, Volume 10, Abstract Rude, Subtitle, and others.
Today, enjoy the first music video from the EP for the song “Filthy” which delivers fans into the seedy world of crime-scene sanitation that is the backdrop for the overall EP. The video was created by James Reitano, the man who brought you videos from Madvillian, Cut Chemst and Kool Keith.
More than two decades after the Freestyle Fellowship’s classic ’93 album Innercity Griots, Fellowship member Myka 9 continues to churn out records. In fact, last week saw the release of his own LP, Mykology and a new Freestyle Fellowship record, Promise. But these days he’s got more than recording music on deck. He started a label, M9 Entertainment, with friend and producer JtheSarge.
These days they’re readying a hip-hop rasta rapper from Oakland (by way of Suriname) named Winstrong. His debut album featuring Aceyalone, M1 from dead prez, and others, called Ghetto Hymns, will be available October 25. They’re also readying for their trip to Amsterdam next month, where they will perform at Cannabis Cup 2011.
