Gramatik Launches Lowtemp Records & Win Free Tickets!!!! (Video & MP3)

 

Most of the URB staffers got hipped up to Slovenian beatmaker Gramatik’s production prowess somewhere around 2008, with the release of Street Bangers Vol 1.  Fast forward to 2013, and Gramatik has seen over 10 releases, was signed to Pretty Light’s Record Label, and is now launching his own label, simply named Lowtemp.   

Forward progress seems to be the name of the game with regards to Gramatik’s career trajectory.  He has long since graduated from the Dilla-infused ‘boom-bap’ sample constructions that exemplified his class of beatsmiths during the late-aughts.  Progress has also seen Gramatik move quickly through the ranks of current producers, pulling influences from all …

Vinyl Destination, a special episodic project covering DJ Jazzy Jeff’s travels and tribulations during his current world tour, returns this week.  The episode set during part of the Pan-Asian leg of his tour takes Jeff from Bangkok to Tokyo and parts in between.  Peep the episode to peep what happens when you get separated from your crew enroute to Tokyo… as Jeff puts it… welcome to the Hangover Part 4.

His world tour continues with a US leg of dates, including Chicago, San Francisco, and Las Vegas.
