The Park – These Are The Days (Video)

Bay Area rhythm section The Park (backing band for BIG K.R.I.T., Freddie Gibbs, Alice Russell, Jesse Boykins III and more), unveil the first video for their new three song release “These Are The Days.” Set over a grinding synth-based groove and featuring vocoder and a cinematic guitar jam, the track is a funk-drenched take on life in the U.S. right now. The video echoes the song with a kaleidoscope of visuals featuring working people, classic lyrical themes such as “Let It Be” and “Things Fall Apart“, California sunsets, and the theme of cherishing right now because “these are the days.”

A3C was a weekend filled with reunions, representing, and rapping. Crews rapping acts like Jon Connor with their “ya knooooow!” chants and acts like the LEP Bogus Boys from Chicago with their crazy showcase at Fadia Kader’s Perfect Attendance Stage.

If you weren’t there to rock the mic, you may have been in attendance just checking out some dope music. Moving through the crowd handling biz like SMKA or just chilling like Kyle Lucas of Vonnegutt. Artists flew from all over the country to make noise and shake hands. Pollyn – Cold Sweat feat. Roc Marciano (MP3)

After previously collaborating with rappers Guilty Simpson and Freddie Gibbs, Pollyn is back with another collaboration to celebrate the release of their new album “Living In Patterns” dropping October 4th.

This time around, Pollyn taps Roc Marciano for the track “Cold Sweat.” This dark, yet fast paced (135 BPMS!) song was recorded during the sessions for “Living In Patterns” but is an exclusive B-Side, not appearing on the album.

The fellas at Yours Truly did a video piece on Main Attrackionz and I’m glad to see someone else taking notice of their various talents. Yours Truly has had a great history of exposing undeveloped artists who eventually blow up to do big things, including folks like Big K.R.I.T., Freddie Gibbs, Fashawn, Yelawolf, and others, so if their track record continues, the two fellas at Main Attrakionz will have a very promising future. “Belle” is the second official music video from The Park and was shot and edited by European DJ/Tastemaker Lefto during his travels to San Francisco in the spring of 2011. “Belle” is taken from The Park’s debut album The Process… featuring 6 original songs by the band who has spent the better part of the past 5 years hosting one of the Bay Area’s best regular parties, Wednesday Night Sessions at Mojito in San Francisco, touring internationally with the likes of Darondo, Alice Russell and Chuck Prophet, and lending their talents to numerous other projects.
