Last month, Four Tet did a custom mix-CD for the crowd at the Plastic People party in London. Now he’s posted the mix up on Soundcloud for everyone’s enjoyment. The mix includes new songs “Love Cry” and “Sing” off the forthcoming Four Tet album, There Is Love In You, plus a new track “Moth” and a Joy Orbison remix of “Love Cry.”
The Noise Pop Festival, which takes over venues around San Francisco, tends more toward pop than noise. Next year’s festival is no different. The 18th Noise Pop fest, which which goes down February 23 – March 1, will feature plenty of all-stars. Among the bands participating: the Magnetic Fields, Atlas Sound, Rogue Wave, Four Tet, the Soundtrack of Our Lives, Mark Kozelek, John Vanderslice, Foreign Born, Zee Avi, the Limousines, and We Were Promised Jetpacks.
The festival also includes an music industry mini-conference called Industry Noise, which will feature speakers, panels, discussion groups, and individual mentoring, taking place February 27 at the Swedish American Hall.

Joy Orbison is at it again, people. As if 2009 wasn’t already a big debut year for Peter O’Grady, it only gets bigger as he has remixed electronic genius Four Tet and his upcoming release “Love Cry”, along with UK Funky king Roska. This should be a huge remix release from Domino; it drops on November 23rd. In the meantime, enjoy the added warmth and serene shuffle via Joy Orbison up above (ripped by somebody listening to Gilles Peterson).
