The Great Fire of Rome lasted about 6 days and 6 nights, caused by the Roman emperor Nero in 64 CE. Fast forward about 1945 years and here we are at the release of an album by a band taking its namesake for a disaster of the Roman Empire. Fires of Rome are an enigma'their musical identity a loose and assorted one, much like the uncontrolled fire that must have ravaged through the cobblestone boulevards of the imperial capital.

Black Kids

Nice live re-arrangements, espesh on lead vocals. Amidst the chaos I forgot to plug my audio recorder into the mixer upstairs in the VIP area, so the bass is raw. I think it’s former Liquid Sky crewmember slash Harmonie Korine muse slash designer Chloe Sevigny, who does a lovely ballerina’s standing split from the balcony.
