The new FE album "Authenticity" clocks in at a polished eleven tracks, with the memorable "Everything must go” starting off with a synthesizer melody that hypnotizes from start to finish. "This city ain't the same without you" utilizes fan favorite Yazarah's vocals. MTV picking up "The Ballad of Purple St. James’”  first video for rotation is as just a much a testament to the FE+ label, as is the newest tight knit ZO!  full length. Nicolay's solo catalog continues to develop over time, and "Don't Wait" provides the proof Darrien Brockington's eventual solo album is long deserved. I have no doubt we'll see a rise in notoriety of all of the artists in the collective in the not so distant future.

Cymarshall Law Live at Fat Beats NY (Video)

Freedom Express Line the collaborative project between Cymarshall Law & The Beatnikz is out now via XOXO Records!!  Here is some dope footage of Cymarshall Law performing the song Believe This at Fat Beats NY, which is probably one of the last in-stores as they prepare to close the legendary store.  Cymarshall Law recently released the official music video for Believe This so if you haven’t checked that out yet, please check it out via the link below including his remaining US Tour dates.

The History of Fat Beats (Interview)

We reported last week that legendary hip-hop retailer Fat Beats was shuttering it’s final two stores in LA and NYC. Hip-Hop DX has a nice long interview with some of the key members of the Fat Beats family, including owner Joe Abjian, general manager and La Coka Nostra alum DJ Eclipse, and one-time employee/MC Q-Unique.

“We’ve been saying we’re in the ninth inning of this game that we’ve been playing for such a long time, and when you see things like this happen, then you start to question what are you doing and why are you doing it because certain things that we were so accustomed to having around like Fat Beats…are slowly leaving.” Q-Unique

Cymarshall Law & The Beatnikz – Believe This (Video)

Last week we leaked the mp3 for the song Believe This from Cymarshall Law & The Beatnikz from their upcoming album Freedom Express Line dropping on August 31st on XOXO Records.  Today, we’re proud to release the official music video for the track, directed by Jimmy Giambrone.

After recently coming back from his latest European Tour, Cymarshall Law will be embarking on his US Tour starting at Fat Beats NY for an in-store performance.  Many of you are already aware that the remaining Fat Beats stores will soon close, so not only is this a chance to peep an exclusive performance from Cymarshall Law, but will be one of the last in-stores that will ever happen at Fat Beats NY.
