Hip Hop photographer Derick G. posted this behind the scenes look at the making of Lil Wayne and Eminem’s music video for the single “Drop The World”. The video was shot in LA and directed by ATL’s Chris Robinson. Tune into MTV March 11th, 2010 to catch the premier.

THE EXCELLENT: With all the hoopla surrounding The Grammys, The Roots Jam Session is the hands-down winner for high-quality and a star-studded turnout. When one of LA’s hottest producers picks up tracks by hip-hop’s reigning prince and indie’s love-torn darlings, only good things will come of it. Here Nosaj Thing remixes Drake’s “Forever” and The xx’s “Islands,” which, in a few words, sound like he sprinkled stardust on the tracks and this “Islands” remix is infinitely better than the original. America’s largest independent hip-hop gathering falls victim to economic and internal pressures. Will this king of Midwest festivals rise again?
Summer 2009: For the first time in its 13-year history, Cincinnati’s Scribble Jam, one of America’s largest hip-hop festivals, was cancelled. The event had become a Midwest institution, featuring both independent and internationally known artists while representing all aspects of hip-hop culture including graffiti art, DJing, break-dancing and audio production. For performers and fans, the event was a chance to participate in hip-hop as a living, breathing culture.

8 Mile actress Brittany Murphy has died after reportedly suffering a heart attack at the age of 32.
The star who appeared alongside Eminem in the box office smash died following a cardiac arrest, according to TMZ.com.
The Los Angeles City Fire Department told the celebrity website that they received a call at 8 am this morning to a home listed as belonging to Murphy’s husband, Simon Monjack.
Murphy was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre and pronounced dead on arrival, according to a hospital spokeswoman, reports BBC News.
During her career Murphy also teamed up with superstar DJ Paul Oakenfold for the single “Faster Kill Pussycat” in 2006 and she coveredQueen’s “Somebody to Love” and Earth, Wind & Fire’s “Boogie Wonderland” in the film Happy Feet.
