It’s doubtful that Ellie Goulding is actually from our present time, or even our present planet. Maybe she’s from The Matrix or something. All speculations aside regarding her otherworldliness, the allegedly 23 year-old englishwoman sure is something else. Selling over 300,000 albums this year and earning such honorable accolades as Critics’ Choice at the 2010 BRIT awards and a #1 spot on the BBC Sound of 2010 poll, Goulding has a lot to be happy about. The singer-sonwriter’s instantly addictive melodies gracefully walk the line between electro and acoustic, allowing her to make basically any type of record she wants while still remaining true to her signature style. I’ve never heard of Ellie Goulding but I took a chance on this track strictly for TL’s contribution and I’m glad I did because Ellie’s got some great vocal chords.

The latest dance-pop-treat from the UK had the latest progressive performer from New York add his heavy vocals over her most recent release, “Starry Eyed.”
The original track, which plays like radio-ready bomb about to burst into your ears everywhere, is cleverly remixed by New York musician Penguin Prison and steams with a funky bass-line and guitar loops that would make Phoenix jealous. And London’s lyrics easily make the track more believable, making sure to balance the pop aesthetic Goulding is cultivating with a song that is preparing all of the dance floors for the summer.
These three, with their spotlights turning brighter this year, they were all musically meant for each other.
