Today marks the first day of Burning Man, the infamous gathering of freaks, fools and flashers that takes place every year in the Nevada Desert. Part hippie commune, part cyber rave, all covered in dust, Burning Man is a place where you go to discover the unexpected. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have something of plan (besides what order to take your drugs in). Here’s a small list of what we suspect will be worthy this week at “The Man.” But don’t be afraid to follow your own path, man.
Earlier this week we revealed the Yeah Yeah Yeahs as our readers’ favorite rock artist of the year, and to wrap up the week we have a remix of the YYYs “Maps” done by Elite Force. The classic is mashed with the JELO remix of Monolythe. Kick it up a notch!

The sHack man is back with his first outing on his own label that brings more goodness for you tech-funk junkies to salivate over. The original has the man himself on the vocals accompanied by his trademark beats and pulsing synths. If that wasn't enough, Hybrid drops their flavor and Perc drops a glitchy electro-tinged dub to round out this 12'. B

There is no greater pleasure than reviewing Shack (aka EF), who is one of the most critical of critical tune reactors. Unfortunately there isn't a huge amount to complain about here. Really nice production and mix downs on both sides which are both stompin & techy 4/4 numbers. I would 100% choose the re-rub though, as when the full vocal on the original comes in I feel compelled to stuff things in my ears and cower in fear.
