The Good Natured On Tour! (Video & MP3)

Britain’s pop-noir trio The Good Natured is playing select dates in January in anticipation of their upcoming release slated for Spring 2012.  The band recently premiered “Video Voyeur,” the first cut from their forthcoming debut album. “Video Voyeur”, produced by Swedish studio ace Patrik Berger (known for his work with Robyn), is an indicator of what is to come from these talented young Brits, who are reminiscent of The Human League. The Good Natured’s music is a stellar example of what is classic and timeless about ’80’s goth-synth-pop.

New tracks by Tunde Odegbaro (MP3)

Tunde Odegbaro is a Nigerian-born, New York ex-pat living in Japan. One of the results of his international living experiences,  is that he makes bangin’ music. Tunde’s remix of Ryoshusho, on Tolk Records is a terrific, full length, DJ-friendly electro remix. Face 2 Face is what Ken Ishii’s music would sound like, if he were funkier and sexier… Plus the album cover artwork is just so darn cute, it makes you want to collect ‘em all.

Legowelt Releases Pay-What-You-Want Album (MP3)

Vintage Analog Producer Wants To Fix His Juno

Dutch electro producer Legowelt (the vintage kind of electro, not the main stage rave kind of electro) has released a surprise new album, The TEAC Life, for free download, with the modest request that folks who like what they here paypal him some euros.

“You can donate some $ or Euro… so I can buy more crap synthesizers to make stuff like this and repair my Juno 106,” the producer wrote on his website, where the download is being offered. A quick check of the preview streams (in case the free download is too cumbersom for some), reveals the sort of classic analog techno that Legowelt is known for via a decade of releases for labels like Bunker, Cocoon and Clone.

We recommend getting the album now and kicking in a few sheckles if for no other reason than …

Sunsets, Controversy, & Dude Love: Digitalism Talk New Album (Video)

Dealing out bro hugs, relaxed euphoria, and even a little bit of weepy heart-break, Digitalism’s upcoming LP is a studio set fixed to sound more natural and focused than its more “canned”, idealistic predecessor. More minded to protect the band’s musical intentions, as well as, ironically, give a little love to the ladies who felt left out on the band’s previous effort, I Love You, Dude is also a record that took over a year to write and produce and, as URB found out, even changed the duo’s own creative working style. Read below for our interview with Jence Moelle, the blonder half of the Digi brotherhood and look for I Love You, Dude to hit stores in the U.S. on Tuesday, July 5th.

URB: I …

Simon Baker – Traces (Review)

Simon Baker

Traces

Released by 2020 Vision

Long-time influential player in the UK house and techno scene, Simon Baker, is releasing his highly anticipated debut album Traces on his home label of 2020 Vision. The internationally seasoned DJ shows all of his musical sides on his first long player. Album opener and single “No Pressure,” is a poppy gem that sounds like Tiga in a Berlin studio. It’s beautifully orchestrated with strings and soulful keys, and the looping vocals are from collaborator Debukas. It kind of sums up the roots of dance music; Disco, Electro ...
