U.S. Elevator – All Through The Night (Premiere) (MP3)

With one foot steeped in tradition and one foot towards the future, ‘All Through The Night’ stands as a hauntingly lush and melodic first effort by the musical collaboration known as U.S. Elevator.  Composed of folk royalty, Sarah Lee & Johnny and the beat geniuses known as The Rondo Brothers, U.S. Elevator has created a new ‘beat-folk’ sound by taking the rich musical history of folk and injecting an essence of beat-electronic compositions.

The initial track off of the EP, Valentine, which incidentally releases on February 14, can only be heard as something ‘unexpected and exceptional.’  The folk sensibilities, the airy presence, and lush vocal rrangements that Sarah Lee and Johnny lend to the track play off of the drum machine influences of the Rondo Brothers to produce a cover that breathes fresh air into the track originally made famous by …

Download: Scuba – ‘Flash Addict’ (MP3)

Grab the B-Side to forthcoming single ‘The Hope’

Although Scuba’s third album Personality is under lock & key until its release on March 6th, the first single The Hope is already in heavy rotation. The B-side to The Hope is a non-album cut called Flash Addict that’s equally as capable of filling the floor. Quite frankly, it’s really good, so we were surprised to find out that although the single is due to drop on February 6th, we’re allowed to share a 320kbps download of Flash Addict with you for free today.

DOWNLOAD: FLASH ADDICT

If you’re in NYC, be sure to catch Scuba when he does a special edition of his SUB:STANCE club night on March 10th with Boddika.

Orbital To Release New Album, Touring UK + Exclusive Download (Video & MP3)

'Wonky' coming out April 3rd, hear 'Never' today

Paul Hartnoll, one half of production duo Orbital, explains that “When I’m writing music, if it doesn’t move you emotionally, it’s not working. It has to give me butterflies. I have to make myself cry in the studio.” This vision led to huge success for himself and his brother, Phil, as they dominated the electronic music scene throughout the 90s by releasing some seriously epic play-this-in-outer-space hits like Chime, Style, The Box, and Satan, that proved to the masses that electronic music is neither mechanical nor is it emotionless.

After a 5-year break, they’re back with an entirely new album entitled Wonky, due for release April 3rd. The album is the product of a long time spent, and has continually been refined as the Hartnoll brothers have toured across the world, test-driving the tracks and reworking them until perfection. You can see the video for the new track Never below – and be sure to follow the jump to download it for free, as well as a list of Orbital’s upcoming tour dates.

Download: Azealia Banks ‘NEEDSUMLUV’ (prod. Machinedrum) (MP3)

Free track before release of SXLND EP tomorrow

Aptly coinciding with Aaliyah’s birthday, Berlin-based producer Machinedrum has made available his Aaliyah-sampling track SXLND ahead of tomorrow’s release of his EP by the same name. For the free download it’s been re-titled as NEEDSUMLUV and features Azealia Banks singing instead of doing her usual rapping. This isn’t the first time Banks has collaborated with Machinedrum, they also put out the tracks P-U-S-S-Y and Barbie Shit in October. This pairing adds to the list of reasons to watch out for Banks, as she seems to have stellar taste in producers, having also worked previously with Lunice (on Runnin) and Jacques Greene (who appears in the video for 212). You can stream and download NEEDSUMLUV below:
