CNN doesn’t care about hip-hop people

Rap sucked last year. Things aren't exactly looking like a comeback in the double-oh-seven. Commercially, singles are stale or snap, but mostly both. CNN has had the most glee explaining the decline of hip-hop with a special a few weeks back and now this article. Now, we can't get all racist on these results, a la Byron Crawford, and everyone is quick to admit that music sales are down across the board, but no one is decrying the death of rock because Nickelback is the only band that can sell any records. And i don't know anyone who actually likes that ugly-dude band.

The music industry is spreading thin, and while this isn't good for Universal & Co., it is equalling the playing field for the little guys. Koch had a huge year …
