Flying Lotus & House Shoes limited edition Vinyl/Mp3 Do-Over

If you’ve never been or heard of The Do-Over, you’re in for a real treat. The brainchild of Aloe Blacc, Stones Throw behind-the-scenes architect Jamie Strong & Chris Haycock. Some of the best times there were when nobody knew who was playing. Wil.I.am & DJ AM had two of the most unique sets I’d ever heard. Dj Rhettmatic & the Beat Junkies are a fixture in addition to Aloe playing the pitch perfect MC for the weekly summertime party series in L.A. Now, The Do-Over is releasing limited 10-inch record series featuring exclusive tracks from some of the guests of the party. Each volume is limited to 1,000 copies, featuring deluxe artwork/packaging by a different graphic designer.

Volume 1 comes with never heard before music by Flying Lotus (Warp/Brainfeeder) & House Shoes (debut release) in this LA vs Detroit beatdown. If you haven’t heard King James or Gaslamp Killer’s retrospective find it on this site

The deluxe package features custom duo-finish jacket, inner-sleeve, kiss-cut sticker sheet to design your own sleeve & pressed on clear vinyl. Artwork/Packaging by Steven Harrington. Click on the photos to be redirected to the do over site & stonesthrow’s store respectively.

Z-Trip’s Revolution: A Party for the People [11/13/09] (Video)

As my cab pulled up to the Maloof family’s Palms Hotel, I couldn’t miss the massive “Z-Trip’s Revolution: A Party for the People” sign towering above the parking lot. Just another piece of evidence confirming DJ culture was permanently etched in the entertainment landscape. Two back -to-back nights at one of Vegas’ biggest properties (Paul Oakenfold owns Saturday’s for his Perfecto night) puts guys with records on par with the city’s comics and American Idol winners.

Five Minutes with DJ AM

If he's the Celebrity DJ than who's his Celebrity Dentist?

By Dani Deahl

Lollapalooza day 2, Perry’s stage. The dome is packed, a neon-clad crowd smashed against the railing, singing along to Crookers’ remix of Kid Cudi’s “Day ‘n’ Nite.”  A Soulwax edit drops, Daft Punk filters in, the crowd goes bananas. We snagged AM after his set for a five-minute chat on everything from notoriety to the New Young Pony Club. Read on.

On being called a “Celebrity DJ”
Well, it depends on what you mean by celebrity DJ. If …
