Currently on a nationwide tour, the Disco Biscuits’ album Planet Anthem is fueling their upcoming tour stops, unlike their prior albums. Even while exercising their trademark blend of electronic and jam-rock elements, the Biscuits take few risks with Planet Anthem, adhering to their traditional formula of bland, often hackneyed lyrical moments (see the first lines from the opening track “Loose Change”), bolstered by jam-ready instrumentations. When it boils down, Planet Anthem is merely fodder for live jam sessions.
