Denmark Vessey has been quietly making power moves the last year and the newly signed Dirty Science member has just released his mixtape, “Don’t Drink The Kool Aid,” presented by House Shoes and his new label. How about that for a cosign? The mixtape features Johaz (Dag Savage), Co$$, Quelle Chris and production from Exile, Apollo Brown and more.
Live in LA? Got any plans next Thursday, the 19th?
If you’re lucky enough, you can win a free pair of tickets to go see the Dirty Science family perform at The Echo, which is presented by ArtDontSleep.
To win the pair of tickets, go to Twitter and tweet, “I got my free @DirtyScience tix cuz @URBMag hooked it up #URBExclusive.”
Blame One and J57 linked up via Twitter in August 2010 right before Fat Beats closed. They were supposed to work on one or two songs but with all of J’s new-found free time from the store closing, they decided to work on an album. They did the entire album through thousands of email, calls and texts. They never met face-to-face until this past May at Red Bull Studios in Santa Monica while J57 was in town recording his album with Koncept. Their album was already finished, mixed, mastered and sent off to be pressed up on vinyl before they ever met in person.
Blame One is from the West Coast crew; Dirty Science (Exile, Blame One, Blu, Aloe Blacc, Fashawn, & Johaz) and J57 is from the NYC crew; Brown Bag AllStars (Audible Doctor, DeeJay Element, DJ E Holla, J57, Koncept & Soul Khan).
Blame One & J57′s “Walk in the Sun” LP drops August 27 on SoulSpazm Records. The album drops digitally August 27 and you can pre-order it here. You can also pre-order the double color vinyl which comes out September 3rd.
